Saturday 2nd June 2018
The 2018 QFHS 'London' Meeting and AGM will be held at Jordans Quaker Centre, Welders Lane, Jordans, Beaconsfield, Bucks. HP9 2SN.

Come and celebrate 25 years since the formation of QFHS- this is a free event.

Jordans is 10 minutes walk from Seer Green & Jordans station on the Chiltern Line direct from Marylebone London and Birmingham via High Wycombe. For further details of Jordans Quaker Center Click Here

The programme is outlined below. We are delighted to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Friends Foreign Mission thanks to Helen Bowden (who runs the current Orphans Press in Leominster) with Maggie Waldman who was the Margaret Bennett Award winner 2017. They are coming to tell us more about Henry S. Newman's role in that society and tell us how the new biography on him is progressing.

Last year was there was an important anniversary for the Bedford Institute. Judith Moran will tell us about The Bedford Institute and Quaker Families involved.

After lunch we do have the formal AGM with election of officers and committee for 2018-19. We really do need your support this year to keep our Society going. A discretionary clause is in place that could see the Society closed if there just are not the volunteers to take on key roles on committee
Do not let YOUR Society close!
Support at the AGM will enable us to relax with time to visit the Meeting Room (if not in use), browse the library and wander through the delightful burial grounds

Our choice of venue this year was very much influeced by the 300 year anniversary of the death of William Penn. You may well know he is buried here. A Member of Jordans Meeting, Douglas Butterfield, will give a short history of the Meeting before telling us about William Penn and his Chiltern Connections All are welcome but only QFHS Members can take part in the AGM business. Please let us know if you will be coming.
